Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Creature!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benny Woody!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creature smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Creature lands a jab-cross combination.
Woody misses with a takedown attempt
and Creature counters with a left to the body.
We've been told by Creature's head coaches at 3Band MMA ($800/week) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Woody shoots in looking for a takedown. Creature tries to sprawl out of it but Woody keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creature manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woody takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schlatter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Powell.
Schlatter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A little feinted left hand from Powell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Powell lands an elbow inside that Schlatter shrugs off.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sykes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Aoki - the referee stops the clock and Sykes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Aoki. Sykes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
