And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Danis!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danis throws an off balance right hand
and Barboza counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Barboza swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Danis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Danis wants the takedown. Barboza is fighting it off but Danis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barboza's guard against the cage.

Barboza isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Danis stacks Barboza on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Danis!
Barboza is trying to control Danis's posture but Danis avoids it.
Danis wants to control but Barboza is keeping him busy.

Danis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Barboza defends it easily.

Danis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barboza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Barboza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Barboza, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

A less than humble David Danis misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
