And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Austin Tequesas!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Tequesas.
It looked like Cannon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Tequesas misses with a two punch combination.
Cannon moves forwards but Tequesas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Tequesas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tequesas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tequesas has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cannon is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Cannon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tequesas scores with a head kick. Cannon tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tequesas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cannon is controlling him.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Tequesas scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Tequesas scores with a one two! Cannon had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Austin Tequesas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tequesas creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Cannon's defenses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tequesas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tequesas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tequesas.
No joy there for Tequesas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tequesas throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cannon avoids the body shot from Tequesas.
Cannon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tequesas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cannon is pushing Tequesas up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Cannon tries to stall but Tequesas uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Cannon is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tequesas can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tequesas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Tequesas feints a jab promting Cannon to slip. Tequesas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cannon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Cannon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tequesas tries to avoid it but Cannon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tequesas to the ground. Tequesas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
