Bonsai shoots in for a double leg but Bizihwaeile sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bonsai crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bizihwaeile - the referee stops the clock and Bonsai gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bizihwaeile. Bonsai manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bosley counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Schmidt thinking.

enabling Ambe to counter with a crisp jab.
Horrible takedown attempt by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Ambe, which made it look bad.

Ambe takes the fight into the clinch.

Ambe swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ambe lands with a short shot to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ambe.
I was talking to Gracie's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ambe blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Ambe will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gracie up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gracie is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ambe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gracie momentarily.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ambe has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Gracie gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ambe gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gracie is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scar Ambe!
Our winner, Scar Ambe, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
