Phillips tests Gomes's chin there with a solid looking shot.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Gomes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Phillips is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Phillips can do anything to dispel that myth.
A lull in the action here as Gomes stalls from top position.

Gomes has hold of Phillips's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Phillips seems comfortable defending it but Gomes has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Phillips is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Phillips is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gomes couldn't care less - he's delighted!
