Ripley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Danzig - Hand Of Doom kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ripley takes the fight into the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ripley.
Ripley's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Manhoef breaks the clinch.
Ripley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Manhoef moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ripley lands a two punch combo.

It looks like Melvin Manhoef has been cut.
Ripley keeps the fight on the outside.
Ripley tests Manhoef's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Manhoef takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Manhoef throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Ripley counter with a right hand.

Ripley feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Manhoef sprawling to the canvas! Manhoef rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ripley finish him?!

Ripley drops Manhoef with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Manhoef! Ripley dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Julius Lawson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Cane!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson stuffs the takedown attempt from Cane. Cane gets slowly back to his feet.
Lawson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Cane shoots in and bounces Lawson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cane wants to pass the guard but Lawson is keeping the position.
Cane trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cane wants to pass the guard but Lawson is keeping the position.
Cane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cane sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lawson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cane is looking to advance position but Lawson won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cane moves out of range as Lawson strikes.

Cane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lawson's guard.

Cane tries to free his leg and advance position but Lawson is retaining full guard.
Cane passes Lawson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cane moves into full mount! Lawson won't be happy about that!
Cane wants to take Lawson's back but he can't do it this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lawson tries to lock up and control but Cane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Lawson is squirming around, avoiding Cane's attempts to control the action.

Cane is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lawson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lawson!
Cane looks gassed!
Lawson wants to get up but he can't break Cane's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cane wants to sweep here but Lawson controlling him for the moment.
Lawson wants to control from the top but Cane keeps moving.
Lawson wants to stand but Cane has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lawson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Cane dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cane shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lawson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cane just content to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cane is working to tighten is grip on Lawson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Lawson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Cane is really squeezing tight and eventually Lawson passes out! Cane breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Louis Cane!
