And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 57 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Samson Goldstein!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldstein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Minerva.
Minerva stuns Goldstein with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Minerva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Minerva misses with a hook. Goldstein ducked under it nicely.
Minerva looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Goldstein closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Goldstein shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Minerva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Goldstein thinking.
Minerva throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Goldstein looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Minerva scores with a one two! Goldstein had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Samson Goldstein has been cut.
Goldstein tries to score with a low kick but Minerva moves his leg out of the way.
Goldstein tries to score a power double leg takedown but Minerva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Goldstein somewhat.
Scott Minerva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samson Goldstein.

Minerva manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Goldstein on his heels. He'll look to pass Goldstein's guard now, I'm sure.

Minerva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Minerva cracks Goldstein with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Goldstein falls to his knees and Minerva doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
