As Shima tries to get set, Red tries to push him back and clinch up but Shima manages to avoid the attempt.

Red closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Shima has had enough of the clinch but Red keeps him there for the moment.

Shima escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Red closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shima's guard.
Shima wants to hit a switch here but Red passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Shima there!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Red takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Shima doesn't manage to clinch there - Red circles away.
Shima connects with a leg kick. Red looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Red drives through and clinches with Shima against the cage.
Shima tries to break the clinch but Red is controlling the position.

Shima looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Red lands a takedown into guard.
Shima not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shima has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Red has passed into side control.
Red wants to stand but Shima is controlling his arm.
Shima tries to buck Red off but Red is having none of it.

Red goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Shima turns into him and now he's in Red's guard.
Red pulls Shima in close to prevent any damage.

Shima wants to pass the guard but Red is keeping the position.
Red is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Red passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shima!

Red has hold of Shima's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Shima manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Red jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Shima manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Shima tries to improve position but can't.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Red is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Red has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Shima!

Broklyn Red showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Red, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Benavidez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Summers counters with a crisp one two that drops Benavidez! Summers thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Benavidez to his feet! Benavidez is in big trouble!

Summers lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oh Benavidez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Summers lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Summers lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Benavidez at a distance.
Summers lands a nice shot to the body.
Summers connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Benavidez covering up! Summers comes in with a big uppercut and Benavidez goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nathan Summers!
A relieved looking Nathan Summers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
