The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuhn goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Kuhn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hamada manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hamada wants to control but Kuhn is keeping him busy.
Kuhn tries to get to full guard but Hamada has control of the leg.

Hamada seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kuhn is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ham shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ham is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Ris manages to get to full guard.
Ris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ris swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ham has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Ham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ris on the ground.

Ris has gone for a leg lock! Ham slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ris's guard.

Ris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ham tries to avoid it but Ris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ham to the ground. Ham escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ham throws a body shot but no joy.

Ham moves into range and clinches up with Ris.

Ham has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ris uses from the top position.
