The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monty throws an overhand right that lands on Hurtzme's shoulder, as Hurtzme tries to avoid the shot.
Monty jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Monty swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Monty throws a big shot that misses.
Hurtzme uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Monty.
A jab from Monty misses.

and Hurtzme counters with a nice low kick that buckles Monty's knee momentarily.
Monty misses with an uppercut.
Hurtzme misses with a jab to the body
and Monty counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Dick Hurtzme has been cut.

and Monty cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Monty throws the left hand but Hurtzme avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurtzme darts in and clinches Monty up against the cage.

Monty's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Monty jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hurtzme takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Monty stuns Hurtzme with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hurtzme is looking to clinch but Monty is avoiding it.
Jack Monty is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hurtzme shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Monty sprawls well. Monty wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hurtzme gets slowly back to his feet.
Monty throws a shot from downtown. Hurtzme moves away and avoids it.
Jack Monty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Monty.

Monty lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hurtzme at a distance.

Monty lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Monty works Hurtzme's body with a nice hook.

Monty is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hurtzme had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Monty connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hurtzme takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Monty slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Oh Hurtzme is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hurtzme leaves his chin hanging out and Monty seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Hurtzme crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
