The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by The Lion or perhaps it was just good defense by Kawajiri which made him look bad.

Kawajiri drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kawajiri tries to stand but The Lion is controlling from the bottom.

Izakawa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Matsui has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Izakawa has managed to get both his arms back between Matsui's legs - danger averted.
