Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julian Wallace (ranked 4621 p4p, 4648 weight class) and Yu Nan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Smile - Jimmy Durante. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Nan ducks under a wild hook from Wallace.
Wallace throws a leg kick

and Nan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wallace won't be happy with that.
Wallace bucks up and tries to throw Nan off but instead Nan has got his back!
Nan controls the position.
Nan loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Wallace hold on?
Nan is not going to allow Wallace to sit and survive in this position.
Wallace trying to get back to his feet but Nan is in full control for now.
Nan lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Wallace.
Wallace knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nan on the ground.
Nan lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Nan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Wallace is covering up but some of the strikes from Nan are getting through and doing damage.
Nan tries to keep control of the position but Wallace is staying busy.
Can Wallace hold on?! Nan is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Nan is punishing Wallace with strikes - can he finish him?!
Wallace is rocked!
Nan lands a good shot there. Wallace covers up! Nan smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Wallace to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Nan jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yu Nan!
After the fight, Yu Nan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Freecs throws a leg kick which misses Sapiyev's front leg but catches the back leg as Sapiyev tries to avoid it.
Freecs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sapiyev sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Freecs doesn't manage to clinch there - Sapiyev circles away.
Freecs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Freecs dives in for a single leg takedown but Sapiyev sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sapiyev digs a good body shot into Freecs's ribs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Freecs is defended easily by Sapiyev.
Serik Sapiyev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gon Freecs.

Sapiyev shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Freecs takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Sapiyev sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Freecs bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fighter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fighter wants it to stay on the feet.

A nice left hand lands by Fighter.
Fighter makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

It looks like El Maniac has been cut.
Maniac has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fighter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fighter creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Fighter creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Maniac with a big uppercut! Maniac tries to clinch up but Fighter pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Maniac to the mat! Maniac covers up and Fighter unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Faz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nash's face.

Nash shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Faz defends it nicely.

Nash tries to clinch but Faz is having none of it.

Nash lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Faz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Faz looks up at the clock and then as Nash takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Faz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Check out the look on Faz's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Faz swings around for an armbar but Nash sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Faz's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Faz wants to stand but Nash is controlling the position.

Nash is sitting in close to Faz's body. Faz has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Nash is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Nash is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Faz.
