Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Garfield Heathcliff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leandro Alves!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Heathcliff's waist but Heathcliff gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.
Heathcliff lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Heathcliff tries to clinch up.
Heathcliff fails to land with a series of punches.

Alves shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alves was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Alves lands a big shot there that rocks Heathcliff but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Alves throws some wild stikes that Heathcliff manages to avoid easily.
Alves is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Alves with shots to the head and body - Heathcliff looks very uncomfortable down there.

Heathcliff somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Alves shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heathcliff as he jumps to the side.

Alves scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Alves lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Alves lands with a punch from half guard.

Alves takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Alves thows a huge punch but Heathcliff dodges it nicely.
Alves moves into full mount! Heathcliff won't be happy about that!
Alves working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Alves looking to finish Heathcliff with some ground and pound. This is bad for Heathcliff!
Alves is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Alves unloading with bombs!
Heathcliff wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.
Alves fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Heathcliff is breathing heavily.
Alves is landing with some decent strikes but Heathcliff is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Heathcliff is rocked!
Alves with a couple of short strikes.
Oh Heathcliff is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alves landing strikes from the mount.
Alves lands a heavy elbow.
Alves working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Heathcliff is bucking up trying to escape but Alves cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Alves looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Heathcliff covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
