Ryuunosuke can't get the takedown.

Ryuunosuke jumps guard and drags Conner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Conner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ryuunosuke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Conner has managed to get both his arms back between Ryuunosuke's legs - danger averted.
Conner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Conner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ryuunosuke has his foot on Conner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Conner works his way back into a safe position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ryuunosuke looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Conner is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ryuunosuke has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Conner is looking to defend but Ryuunosuke has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Conner! Ryuunosuke pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Conner taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rikuto Ryuunosuke!
A very excited looking Rikuto Ryuunosuke made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
