Mondragon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thompson can pounce on him.

It looks like Fighter Two has been cut.

Two shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with One but One pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Two changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. One tries to avoid it but Two manages to keep hold of a leg and drag One to the ground. One escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

One takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Two fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fighter One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fighter Two.

American has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Gai is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. American yanks on the arm and Gai is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by American.
