Hernandez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pointer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hernandez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Las Vegas in the buildup to the fight.

DeLuna definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
DeLuna has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
DeLuna scores with a jab to the head.
King dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on DeLuna. That did some damage!
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

DeLuna went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
DeLuna scores with a jab. King acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
King is looking to clinch but DeLuna is avoiding it.
King closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
DeLuna comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Fabian DeLuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DeLuna walks forward and throws a big overhand right! King drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! DeLuna swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from King's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Demetrio looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Neer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Neer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Demetrio! But no joy.
Neer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Demetrio stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Demetrio wants it to stay on the feet.
Demetrio moves out of range of the body kick.
Neer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Neer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Demetrio's guard.
Neer throws a strike but Demetrio rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Demetrio is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Neer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Demetrio is looking to defend but Neer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Demetrio! Neer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Demetrio taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Scotty Neer!
Scotty Neer spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
