Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Bob Potatohauler (ranked 3132 p4p, 3156 weight class) and Nage Sorthcutt (ranked 442 p4p, 447 weight class). Joey Bob Potatohauler had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorthcutt fails with the takedown
and Potatohauler counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sorthcutt looks to land a body kick but Potatohauler moved away.
A quick step to the side and Potatohauler tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sorthcutt closes the distance looking to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Potatohauler fakes the leg kick and cracks Sorthcutt in the body.

Potatohauler manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sorthcutt on his heels. He'll look to pass Sorthcutt's guard now, I'm sure.
Sorthcutt wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Potatohauler manages to pass to side control.

Potatohauler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Potatohauler frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Potatohauler lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michail Rasnov!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Buren dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Van Buren with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Rasnov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rasnov tries to counter with a clinch but Van Buren shakes him off and moves away.
Van Buren fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Despite the aggression on Rasnov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Rasnov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Van Buren swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Van Buren really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Van Buren shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rasnov eats them both and turns towards Van Buren to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Rasnov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rasnov slips a nice elbow through Van Buren's hands, connecting with Van Buren's forehead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Van Buren is trying to control but Rasnov passes into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rasnov is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Van Buren looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rasnov gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Van Buren is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rasnov lets go of the hold and Van Buren can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Michail Rasnov!
Michail Rasnov took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.

Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Sandersfield sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sandersfield is trying to pull guard but Brown turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sandersfield fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brown tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Sandersfield feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Brown shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sandersfield but Sandersfield pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sandersfield went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Sandersfield throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brown tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sandersfield is in Brown's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brown has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sandersfield off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Christ gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dudley to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dudley is pushing down on Christ's leg trying to pass to half guard. Christ is fighting to maintain full guard but Dudley has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dudley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dudley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
