Sakuraba throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Veainu's waist but Veainu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sakuraba off to one side.
Veainu looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Veainu has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sakuraba tries to close the distance and clinch up but Veainu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Veainu throws out a counter right but Sakuraba avoids it with no problem.

Siale Veainu seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Veainu throws an overhand right that lands on Sakuraba's shoulder, as Sakuraba tries to avoid the shot.

and Veainu counters with a nice right hand that sends Sakuraba toppling to the canvas! Sakuraba scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Veainu finish him?!
Sakuraba is rocked!
Veainu pounces like a tiger and cracks Sakuraba with a vicious hook! Sakuraba is down but not out! Veainu follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Timur Vasiliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rav Kapur!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapur will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kapur shoots in looking for a takedown but Vasiliev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kapur's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kapur shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Vasiliev but Vasiliev pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Timur Vasiliev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rav Kapur.

Rav Kapur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kapur avoids the body shot from Vasiliev.

Kapur bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kapur tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Kapur thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kapur has control of an arm but Vasiliev manages to advance to Kapur's back!

Vasiliev gets his hands free as Kapur looks to control.
Vasiliev controlling well, preventing Kapur from escaping the position.
Kapur just trying to survive but Vasiliev is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Kapur breaks Vasiliev's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Kapur drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kapur jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kapur passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Vasiliev's coaches at Deathsquad have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Kapur is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Vasiliev is trying to escape and Kapur transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Vasiliev is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kapur! Very nice indeed!

Veainu swats away the attempt to clinch by Bich.

Bich rushes Veainu and presses him up against the cage.
Veainu misses with a body punch.
Veainu fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bich is trying to pull guard but Veainu has him pressed against the cage.

Veainu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bich wants to clinch.

Bich has closed the distance and engaged Veainu in a clinch.
Veainu pushes Bich back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Veainu lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bich has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Veainu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bich takes one on the button.
It looks like Phuc Dat Bich has been cut.

Veainu cracks Bich with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Veainu has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bich to stand back up!
Bich is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Veainu circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bich tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Veainu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bich gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Veainu gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
