Monivamma has chosen Dropkick Murphys: I'm shipping up to Boston as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Kenny!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagani paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Dagani swings for the body but Kenny moves out of range.
Dagani swinging wildly here.
Dagani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kenny lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Kenny postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dagani looks a forlorn figure.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dagani gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kenny wants to control from the top but Dagani keeps moving.
Kenny content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kenny is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kenny is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Kenny is trying to get back to full guard.
Dagani wants to stand but Kenny has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kenny is looking for a sweep. Dagani is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, Dagani seems content to control.

Dagani tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Dagani prevents Kenny from improving his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kenny tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dagani sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kenny somewhat.
Max Dagani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kenny gets the takedown into side control.
Kenny creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dagani sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dagani is not content to let Kenny control the position.
Dagani is looking for a sweep.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kenny cracks Dagani with a big right hand but Dagani just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Kenny showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Dagani's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Kenny misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dagani walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Dagani avoids the body shot from Kenny.

Kenny shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kenny showed some decent athleticism there.
Kenny is looking to take a break and control but Dagani is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dagani is trying to control but Kenny passes into side control!
Dagani manages to get back to half guard.
Kenny has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dagani manages to escape and get back to his feet!
A jab from Dagani finds it's way through Kenny's defenses.

It looks like Steve Kenny has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dagani ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kenny moves away.

No joy there for Dagani, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dagani lands a hook that stumbles Kenny back into the cage. Dagani follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Kenny to the canvas! Dagani pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Kenny has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Max Dagani!
