The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Megaphny throws a leg kick but Jones checks it.

Jones is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Megaphny's half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Megaphny's temple.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.
Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Megaphny is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Megaphny is trying to control but can't.
Megaphny is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Megaphny gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Ethan Jones will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Megaphny throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Megaphny connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Megaphny pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Megaphny content to slow the pace in the clinch.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Megaphny.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jones is trying to drag Megaphny to the mat but Megaphny just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Megaphny's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Megaphny throws a hook but Jones blocks it.
Jones takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Megaphny plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Ethan Jones has been cut.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Megaphny.

Megaphny throws a hook but Jones blocks it.
Megaphny feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Megaphny with a jab.
Megaphny lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A swing and a miss from Megaphny.
Megaphny lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jones's sensitive parts.
Megaphny throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ethan Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Megaphny works the jab nicely.
Megaphny connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Megaphny lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Megaphny feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jones sprawling to the canvas! Jones rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Megaphny finish him?!
