The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belport is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Monto.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Monto has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Monto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Monto lands in his opponent's guard.

Monto has gone for a leg lock! Belport slips out almost immediately though and dives into Monto's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bird postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lancaster is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bird, into his guard.

Bird has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lancaster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bird has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lancaster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lancaster gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bird bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shipilov needs to keep his hands up - Atunes had a free shot at his head there.

It seemed like Shipilov was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Atunes throws a low kick but Shipilov moves out of range easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Atunes lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shipilov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shipilov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

As Atunes backs off Shipilov throws a huge counter combo but Atunes manages to avoid it all.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oh Atunes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've been told by Atunes's head coaches at Casa Steel that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Shipilov is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Atunes with a body shot.
Atunes seems to have got his legs back now.
Shipilov steps in with a hook that catches Atunes right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Shipilov follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Atunes looks absolutely devastated.
