The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brue shoots in for a takedown but Sims shows good takedown defense.
Sims thuds his shin into the meat of Brue's side.

Handzo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mats just stands there and leans against the cage.

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Bosu looks to land a combination but Pierce avoids it well.
