Bassett digs a good hook to Palmer's body.
Bassett should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Palmer tries to clinch up but Bassett circles away and keeps his distance.
Palmer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Palmer avoids the body shot from Bassett.
Palmer moves out of range as Bassett strikes.
Palmer takes one to the chin there.
Horrible takedown by Bassett or perhaps it was just good defense by Palmer which made him look bad.

Palmer lands a big uppercut and Bassett crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Bassett looks OK. Palmer waves Bassett back to his feet!

It looks like Bertie Bassett has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bassett throws the kick towards the body but Palmer avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Palmer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Palmer gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Palmer drops Bassett onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Bassett is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Bassett is rocked!
Palmer creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bassett with a big uppercut! Bassett tries to clinch up but Palmer pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Bassett to the mat! Bassett covers up and Palmer unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Arnold Palmer!
