Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Okongwu screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Bleak.
Okafor throws a poor cross that misses
and Bleak counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Bleak fails with the takedown.
Bleak takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Okafor throws a leg kick but Bleak sees it coming and moves out of range.
Bleak tries to counter with a takedown but Okafor is quick to defend against it.
Bleak drops his hands momentarily and Okafor takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Okafor has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.

Sunshine Okafor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okafor swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bleak.
Okafor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bleak was well out of range. Poor timing from Okafor.
Bleak takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Bleak shoots in for a takedown but Okafor shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darsin Bleak. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sunshine Okafor seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Okafor misses with a straight left.
Bleak chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Okafor can pounce on him.

Bleak throws a hook to the side of Okafor's head but Okafor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Okafor tries to counter with a clinch but Bleak shakes him off and moves away.
Bleak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Okafor moves away.
Okafor swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Bleak misses with a straight left.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Okafor, as that shot connected.
Okafor is looking to clinch.
Okafor connects with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice straight punches there by Okafor. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Okafor.
Okafor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bleak.
Bleak fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Okafor moves into range and connects with a jab.
Okafor cracks a nice hook into Bleak's ribs.
Okafor throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Bleak attempts a counter takedown but Okafor avoids it well and moves away.

and Bleak counters with a single leg into guard. Okafor didn't expect that.

Okafor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bleak manages to get himself to full guard.


Bleak is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Okafor has his hands clasped together but Bleak extends and breaks Okafor's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Bleak.

After the fight, Darsin Bleak was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
