A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Loic Duchesne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikal Panhandler!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duchesne misses with a left hand
and Panhandler counters with a nice uppercut.
Duchesne misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Panhandler counters with a body kick.
Duchesne tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Panhandler plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Loic Duchesne has been cut.

Duchesne shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Panhandler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Panhandler can do anything to dispel that myth.
Duchesne throws a big elbow that misses.

Duchesne has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Duchesne wants to control from the top but Panhandler keeps moving.

Duchesne distracts Panhandler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duchesne connects with a couple of short punches.

Duchesne stands up over Panhandler, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Panhandler is still in real trouble! Can Duchesne finish him?
Duchesne loads up on a big left hand. Panhandler felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Duchesne looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Panhandler can't hide his disappointment, as Duchesne celebrates the victory.
