The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DiAngelo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
DiAngelo shoots in for a double leg but Perroni sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Perroni displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from DiAngelo.
DiAngelo has been working on his balance at Alpha Brasil, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Perroni.

Perroni feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits DiAngelos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

DiAngelo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Perroni looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

DiAngelo has an Americana. Perroni didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! DiAngelo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if DiAngelo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nico DiAngelo!
Nico DiAngelo gave a mention to Altitude Clothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Pilgore Perroni spoke after the fight, saying 'Absolute robbery. I will take the next couple of weeks to do mountains of blow with some Tunisian friends of mine and regroup.'.

Happy has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Toal!
Happy fails to take his opponent's back.

Happy has hold of Toal's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Toal manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Toal reaches up to try and control the position but Happy seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Toal rolls and tries to escape and now Happy has his back!
