That was a close round but I would say that Bill Beukeboom will probably get the nod.

Vargas feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Thompson sprawling to the canvas! Thompson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vargas finish him?!
It looks like Ricky Thompson has been cut.

and Mathieu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Motts throws a lazy right hand but Mathieu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Mathieu throws a leg kick but Motts sees it coming and moves out of range.
Motts throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mathieu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mathieu lands with a kick to the ribs.

Mathieu lands a nice looking body shot.
Motts takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Motts sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Motts takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mathieu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Motts on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Mathieu is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Motts like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Motts from another fist facial!

After winning the bout, Ernesto Mathieu thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
