Murat fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thompson sprawls well initially but Murat persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Murat wants to pass the guard but Thompson is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson tries to kick Murat off but Murat keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Murat working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Stankovic kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Post Malone ft. 21 Savage - rockstar. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

In defeat, Viktor Dragan stepped up to the mic, saying 'First of all, thank you so much for coming out today and witness our match. I didn't get the win today, but I will comeback stronger and win my next match.'.
