Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Classic (ranked 4919 p4p, 4898 weight class) and Tamati Tauati (ranked 440 p4p, 437 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tamati Tauati was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tauati looking to score a takedown here. Classic is defending well but Tauati drives through and ends up in Classic's guard.
Classic is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Barrett fails with the takedown
and Toney counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Toney bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barrett's head.
Barrett gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Toney cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Barrett on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Barrett manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Toney on his heels. He'll look to pass Toney's guard now, I'm sure.

Barrett drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Toney dives on top into guard.

Toney is looking to stand up but Barrett won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Toney is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Barrett has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Toney should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Barrett has tightened it up now! Toney should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Abkhazi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Devaney lands a brutal uppercut that launches Abkhazi off his feet! Abkhazi tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Robson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Balboa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Robson lands a jab to Balboa's midsection.
Balboa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robson sprawls well. Robson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balboa gets slowly back to his feet.
Robson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Balboa was well out of range. Poor timing from Robson.

We've been told by Maskadov's head coaches at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Smith cracks Maskadov with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Smith has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Maskadov to stand back up!
