I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ryu Hoshi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Vendetti.
Vendetti throws a low kick, looking for Hoshi's leg but Hoshi calmly moves out of range.
Hoshi swats away the attempt to clinch by Vendetti.
Vendetti wants to clinch up but Hoshi keeps it at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vendetti. Hoshi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hoshi lands with a straight right. Vendetti didn't see that one coming.
Hoshi connects with a nice looking jab.
Hoshi lands with a shot to the body.
Vendetti motions for Hoshi to come forward. Vendetti throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hoshi. That's going to slow Vendetti down.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hoshi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hoshi stalks Vendetti and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Vendetti's face. Vendetti staggers backwards, shaken.
Vendetti connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hoshi connects with a high kick.

Hoshi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vendetti to the mat! Vendetti manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Hoshi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Hoshi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vendetti controls Hoshi momentarily but Hoshi frees himself.

Vendetti knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hoshi on the ground.
Hoshi works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Vendetti tries to roll over but Hoshi keeps him under control.
Hoshi is nestled in close to Vendetti, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hoshi drops an elbow to the side of Vendetti's head.
Hoshi looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vendetti with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hoshi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Vendetti is rocked!

Hoshi in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vendetti tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Hoshi!

Henderson finds Puchacz's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Puchacz flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Henderson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Puchacz will be OK.

Ocho cracks Kuritz with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kuritz tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ocho pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kuritz is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
