Bandolero uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kangas.
Bandolero shoots in and drives through. Kangas sprawls well.
Bandolero stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kangas.
Bandolero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kangas is fending him off so far but Bandolero persists. Nope, Kangas circles away and we're back to standing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kangas. Bandolero does a little dance to reset his feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Simone has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Steve uses from the top position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Steve looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Steve pushes Simone back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd cheers as Simone lands an impressive looking overhand right. Steve doesn't seem phased though.
Simone takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Simone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Steve punishes Simone's body with a nice straight punch.

Simone rushes Steve and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Simone lands a body punch in the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Simone manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
