The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valerio throws a good cross that connects.

Sparta Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sparta Jr lands in his opponent's guard.
Sparta Jr sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Valerio's guard.
Sparta Jr seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Valerio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Leonov Jr takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Tama bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Leonov Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Tama fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leonov Jr sprawls well initially but Tama persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Strong walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kai lands a head kick. Strong smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like LaDaniel Strong has been cut.
Kai scores with a jab.
Strong throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Kai is looking to counter punch.
Strong lands with a straight right. Kai didn't see that one coming.
Nice defenses there by Strong.
