The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knapp connects with an inside leg kick.
Andersen shoots and misses
and Andersen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Knapp smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Andersen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Knapp defends it nicely.

Andersen darts in and clinches Knapp up against the cage.

Andersen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Andersen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Knapp looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Andersen tries to land a sweep but no joy.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Andersen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Andersen wants to pass the guard but Knapp is keeping the position.

Andersen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Andersen passes Knapp's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Knapp is defending against the submission attempts here by Andersen.
Knapp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Andersen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Andersen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Andersen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knapp knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Knapp tries to kick Andersen off but Andersen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Andersen wants to free his trapped foot but Knapp is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Andersen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Andersen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Andersen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Knapp defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andersen prevents Knapp from standing back up.

Gauge Andersen dominated that round.

Andersen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gauge Andersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knapp gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Andersen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Andersen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Knapp is looking to stand up but Andersen isn't so interested in that idea.

Andersen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andersen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Knapp doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Andersen.

We've been hearing that Andersen has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Andersen is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Knapp is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Adunga Jr slaps away a takedown attempt from Hetman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hetman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Adunga Jr throws a hook but Hetman avoids it easily.
Hetman slips a jab from Adunga Jr.
Hetman lands a body shot.
Adunga Jr with the inside leg kick.
Adunga Jr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Adunga Jr throws a head kick that misses.
Hetman is looking to chop away at Adunga Jr's legs.

Hetman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Adunga Jr misses with a straight right.
Hetman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Adunga Jr throws out the jab.
Hetman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Adunga Jr closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Hetman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Adunga Jr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hetman is in Adunga Jr's guard.

Hetman distracts Adunga Jr with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Adunga Jr utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Adunga Jr kicks Hetman off and gets to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Adunga Jr moves into range and connects with a jab.
Adunga Jr scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Hetman is rocked!
Adunga Jr might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hetman throws a right hand that misses
and Adunga Jr counters with a huge right that knocks Hetman out cold! Adunga Jr is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
