The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taets tries to clinch there but Zaitsev circles away.
Zaitsev displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Taets.

Zaitsev rushes Taets and presses him up against the cage.
Zaitsev lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Taets backwards.

Taets changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zaitsev tries to avoid it but Taets manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zaitsev to the ground. Zaitsev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Spat tries to bum rush Zlatan with a series of wild strikes but Zlatan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Spat dives in and grabs Zlatan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zlatan pushes down on Spat's head and hops out.
No joy there for Spat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zlatan tries to clinch up.
Zlatan ducks under a wild hook from Spat.
Zlatan tries to clinch up.
Zlatan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Zlatan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zlatan tries to close the distance and clinch but Spat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A head kick lands from Spat that sends Zlatan to the canvas. Zlatan tries to scramble back to his feet but Spat brings him back down into side control.

Oh Zlatan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Spat closes the distance looking for a takedown. Zlatan stuffs it but Spat still has hold of him. Spat picks Zlatan up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Spat slams Zlatan to the floor and that's really hurt Zlatan - he doesn't know where he is! Spat throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Spat!
