Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Mokete!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, KC Arellano!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mokete connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Arellano momentarily.

Arellano gets tackled into the cage by Mokete. Mokete maintains the clinch.

Mokete gets control of Arellano's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mokete will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arellano trying to control but Mokete is working from the bottom.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Arellano working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Mokete is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mokete is working hard here to advance position.
Arellano is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Mokete tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mokete keeping moving, preventing Arellano from controlling successfully.
Arellano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mokete. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Arellano engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Mokete looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Mokete working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Arellano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mokete is tightening it up a little... Arellano has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Arellano reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Arellano taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mokete!
