Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Iye Shuman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mitchell van der schans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van der schans has chosen husselin as his entrance music. Iye Shuman could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to mitchell van der schans's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shuman moves in looking to clinch but van der schans pushes him off.
van der schans doesn't manage to clinch there - Shuman circles away.
van der schans blocks a jab.
Shuman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Shuman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but van der schans was well out of range. Poor timing from Shuman.

Shuman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shuman tries to close the distance and clinch but van der schans swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

van der schans really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shuman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shuman wants to hold on but van der schans pushes him away.

Shuman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. van der schans gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shuman has his foot on van der schans's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. van der schans works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shuman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

van der schans avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Shuman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. van der schans doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. van der schans manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Shuman is trying to control the position but van der schans postures up.

Horrible takedown by van der schans or perhaps it was just good defense by Shuman which made him look bad.
