Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darren Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Krueger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darren Millar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Freddy Krueger!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krueger paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Millar darts in and clinches Krueger up against the cage.
Millar has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Krueger avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Millar trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Krueger can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Millar drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krueger dives on top into guard.

Millar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Millar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Krueger stands up over Millar, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Krueger gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Millar shoots in looking for a takedown. Krueger tries to sprawl out of it but Millar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Krueger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Millar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Krueger manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Krueger has his foot on Millar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Millar works his way back into a safe position though.
Millar is breathing heavily.
Krueger wants to stand but Millar is controlling the position.
Krueger utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Millar lands a couple of digs.
Krueger controls Millar momentarily but Millar frees himself.
Millar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Krueger is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Krueger.
Krueger is looking to take a break and control but Millar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Millar is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Krueger off and has taken his back!

Krueger is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Millar gets his way!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Krueger moves into the clinch successfully.
Millar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Krueger walks away with a smile on his face. Millar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Krueger is trying to control Millar's posture but Millar avoids it.
Millar throws an elbow but Krueger slips to the side and avoids it well.

Millar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Millar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Millar lands an elbow.
Krueger is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Millar's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Millar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are battling for position here. Krueger manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Krueger thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Millar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Krueger manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Millar has Krueger in his guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Krueger connects with a nice short shot to Millar's temple.
Millar wants to control but Krueger is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Krueger is keen to just control but Millar is a slippery customer.

Krueger decides to stand up.

Krueger swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Millar counters with a single leg into guard. Krueger didn't expect that.

Millar drops back looking for a leg! Krueger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Krueger manages to kick Millar off! Millar jumps back into Krueger's guard.

Krueger keeping moving, preventing Millar from controlling successfully.
Krueger has control of Millar's left arm, preventing Millar from doing any damage.
Krueger lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Millar!

Darren Millar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
