PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Bang Pitung (ranked 3752 p4p, 104 weight class) and Weimin Liaw (ranked 2336 p4p, 60 weight class). Pitung comes to the ring accompanied by Madball - Born Strong . Weimin Liaw told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bang Pitung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Weimin Liaw!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Pitung does it's job there.
Pitung swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pitung.
Pitung lands the left hand.
Liaw lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pitung circles away quickly and effectively.
Liaw moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pitung throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Liaw stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Liaw tries to clinch up.
Pitung fails to land with a series of punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pitung.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Liaw wants to clinch up but Pitung keeps it at a distance.
Liaw swings widly with a right hand
enabling Pitung to counter with a crisp jab.
Liaw changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pitung connects with a body shot.
Pitung cracks Liaw with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Liaw just misses with a punch to the body.
Pitung fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Liaw looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Liaw looks winded!
Liaw slips a straight right by Pitung.
Pitung with a jab.

Liaw is rocked!
Pitung with a hook.
Liaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Pitung finish him?
Liaw walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Bang Pitung!
After winning the bout, Bang Pitung thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
