The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schumacher fails with a takedown attempt.
Hatton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Schumacher clinches.
A right hook to the body lands for Schumacher.
A body shot lands from Schumacher.
Schumacher lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

That has opened up Rick Hatton's cut even more.

Schumacher breaks from the clinch.
Hatton fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hatton paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Schumacher scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

The cut above Rick Hatton's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Hatton tries to keep at a distance but Schumacher has taken the fight into the clinch.
Knees to the body from Schumacher.
Hatton looks winded!

Schumacher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Schumacher decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hatton tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Schumacher manages to move to mount!
Schumacher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Schumacher lands a big shot there that rocks Hatton but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Rick Hatton's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rick Hatton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
