Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beowulf McLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Beowulf McLeod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLeod wants to clinch up but Hunter keeps it at a distance.

Hunter tries to keep at a distance but McLeod has taken the fight into the clinch.

McLeod decides to pull guard.
McLeod is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hunter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
McLeod knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunter on the ground.
McLeod tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McLeod on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McLeod tries to get out of the position.

Hunter stands up and waves to McLeod to follow him.

McLeod gets a clinch.
McLeod tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hunter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McLeod gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McLeod wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hunter has him pressed against the cage.

McLeod has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hunter uses from the top position.
McLeod seems keen to control Hunter's posture.
Hunter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

McLeod is working an open guard so Hunter takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

McLeod drives through and clinches with Hunter against the cage.
McLeod jumps guard but Hunter stands there with McLeod around his waist. McLeod gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

McLeod tightens his grip and picks Hunter up, before dumping him to the ground. Hunter manages to land in guard.

Hunter tries to escape but McLeod is in control.

McLeod shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McLeod was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

BOOM! McLeod connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hunter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hunter squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Hunter is bucking up trying to escape but McLeod cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Hunter is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
McLeod can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hunter is looking to escape.
McLeod controlling his opponent.

Hunter somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunter tries to clinch up but McLeod circles away and keeps his distance.

Hunter stands up from McLeod's guard - Hunter perhaps looking for a knockout.

McLeod gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hunter.
McLeod throws a knee to the head but misses.

Hunter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hunter manages to end up in side control.

Hunter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McLeod might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but McLeod keeps working.
McLeod is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hunter decides to take the fight back to the feet.

McLeod looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hunter tries to clinch up.
McLeod throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McLeod misses with a takedown attempt - Hunter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hunter looks to land a combination but McLeod avoids it well.

Hunter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hunter gets control of McLeod's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hunter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Hunter lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McLeod!

McLeod tries to lock up and control but Hunter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLeod keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Hunter stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

McLeod closes the distance and pushes Hunter back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hunter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McLeod fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A close second round but Sam Hunter will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Hunter throws a series of punches but McLeod avoids them all with ease.
McLeod throws a solid leg kick but Hunter takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McLeod.
Hunter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hunter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McLeod decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hunter is trying to get back to full guard.
Hunter wants to control but McLeod is keeping busy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McLeod is taking a breather. Hunter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

McLeod is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hunter has managed to free his arm - good work.
McLeod trying to mount his opponent but Hunter defends it.
McLeod is looking to stall here but Hunter recovers full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McLeod looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hunter is fending him off so far but McLeod persists. Nope, Hunter circles away and we're back to standing.
McLeod will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hunter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hunter throws a nice looking combination but McLeod bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hunter throws a right and a left that both miss.
McLeod stuffs the takedown attempt from Hunter. Hunter gets slowly back to his feet.
Hunter tries to clinch there but McLeod circles away.
McLeod misses with a low kick as Hunter jumps back.
Hunter throws a series of punches but McLeod avoids them all with ease.
McLeod shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hunter goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hunter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McLeod closes the distance but Hunter moves to the side
and Hunter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hunter misses with a looping left.

Hunter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Hunter scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hunter lands with a shot to the body.
Hunter throws a right hand that McLeod ducks under and follows up with a left that McLeod also avoids with ease.
Hunter misses with a looping right.

McLeod shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hunter's guard.

Hunter has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes McLeod off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Hunter wants to clinch but McLeod slips to the side

and McLeod holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hunter lands a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McLeod is proving hard to escape from.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sam Hunter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hunter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
