PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tua Graves (ranked 2962 p4p, 266 weight class) and Hasan Ribuvnik (ranked 3609 p4p, 309 weight class). Ribuvnik has chosen Shantel - Disko Partizani as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Hasan Ribuvnik!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribuvnik cracks Graves with a right hand to the side of the head.
Decent striking displayed by Ribuvnik there.
Ribuvnik avoids a kick to the body.
Graves ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ribuvnik moves away.
Ribuvnik feints a counter leg kick.
Ribuvnik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice straight punches there by Ribuvnik. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ribuvnik.

Ribuvnik clinches up against the cage.
Graves is trying to break free.
Graves misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Graves jumps guard.
Ribuvnik wants to get up but he can't break Graves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Graves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Graves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ribuvnik can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ribuvnik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ribuvnik tries to stand but Graves is controlling from the bottom.

Graves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ribuvnik doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ribuvnik manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ribuvnik has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Graves is proving hard to escape from.

and Ribuvnik counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Ribuvnik stalks Graves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Graves's face. Graves staggers backwards, shaken.

Graves looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

A right handed body shot lands from Ribuvnik.
Graves has Ribuvnik pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ribuvnik manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ribuvnik.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Graves tries to pull guard but Ribuvnik won't allow it.

Ribuvnik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hasan Ribuvnik dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Graves closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ribuvnik quickly recovers to half guard.

Ribuvnik wants to get back to his feet.
Graves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ribuvnik keeps working.
Ribuvnik is trying to escape back to his feet but Graves uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Graves decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ribuvnik to his feet.

Graves takes a swing at Ribuvnik's ribcage but misses.
Hasan Ribuvnik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribuvnik tries to clinch but Graves moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ribuvnik scores with a one two! Graves had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Graves throws a wild hook but Ribuvnik just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Graves gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Ribuvnik raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hasan Ribuvnik!
Hasan Ribuvnik opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
