PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Stanton AZ (ranked 7574 p4p, 267 weight class) and Jib Mubagy (ranked 6771 p4p, 246 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

AZ clinches.

Mubagy tightens his grip and picks AZ up, before dumping him to the ground. AZ manages to land in guard.
Mubagy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
AZ might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mubagy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mubagy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
AZ wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mubagy manages to pass to side control.
Mubagy has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
AZ tries to get back to half guard but can't.

AZ is looking to improve his position but Mubagy isn't that keen on the idea.
Mubagy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

AZ is rocked!
Mubagy postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked AZ badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Mubagy around the waist but Mubagy pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Mubagy is the winner by TKO! Mubagy jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
