Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between African King (ranked 5855 p4p, 494 weight class) and Ian Justino (ranked 5812 p4p, 492 weight class). The key to victory for African King has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, African King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Justino!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Justino misses with a head kick.
No joy there for Justino, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ian Justino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Justino misses with the combination.
King attempts a counter takedown but Justino avoids it well and moves away.
Justino looks to land a left hand but King moved out of range nicely.
Justino throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
King checks a leg kick.
Justino throws an uppercut from half a mile away. King sees it coming and avoids it easily.
King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Justino counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Justino is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Justino passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for King!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King is wriggling around trying to escape.
Justino looking to control and managing it successfully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
King wants to hold on but Justino pushes him away.
Justino controlling his opponent.

Justino looking to control and managing it successfully.
King wants to control but Justino is having none of it.
Justino controlling the position easily from mount.
We've been informed that Justino has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Justino is continuing to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
King is wriggling around trying to escape.
Justino controlling from mount.
King is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
King keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ian Justino dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Justino throws a hook but King avoids it easily.
King tries to close the distance and clinch up but Justino swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Justino throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Justino circles away.
King changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Justino tries to avoid it but King manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Justino to the ground. Justino escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Justino in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
King tries to clinch there but Justino circles away.
Justino throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and King counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Justino is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Justino misses with a straight left.
Justino throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Justino. Those never looked like landing.
Justino misses with a hook. King ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King tries to clinch there but Justino circles away.
Justino defends well against a solid takedown attempt from King.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for African King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

King looks for a takedown but Justino sprawls well.

Justino throws a big shot that misses.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Justino swivels and escapes.
Justino rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but King moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Justino decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Justino has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
King has control of Justino's left arm, preventing Justino from doing any damage.

Justino lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Justino is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The adventures of Justino the control monster continue. Boring.
King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Justino stands up and waves to King to follow him.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

King dodges the punch combination from Justino.
Justino avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Justino.
African King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Justino misses with a double jab
and King counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ian Justino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King moves out of range of the strikes.
Justino shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Justino throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
King misses with a takedown attempt - Justino sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice straight punches there by King. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of King.

Justino loads up on a big right hand but King slips the punch.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Justino takes a shot to the body in his stride.
King steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Justino.
A head kick misses from King.
Justino is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Justino lands a left and a right that send King crashing to the mat, dazed. Justino thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


King is rocked!


It looks like African King has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Justino fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oh King is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Justino looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
King wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Justino closes the distance and clinches.

Justino breaks the clinch.
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Justino paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King seems to have got his legs back now.
Justino throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Justino drops King with a huge uppercut! King drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Justino is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ian Justino!
