Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Markus Kiviranta (ranked 7163 p4p, 481 weight class) and Pull Plugger (ranked 7297 p4p, 487 weight class). Markus Kiviranta could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pull Plugger's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiviranta cracks Plugger with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kiviranta moves into the clinch.
Kiviranta content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kiviranta trying to land knees to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kiviranta creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Plugger is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kiviranta pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Plugger should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kiviranta breaks from the clinch.
Kiviranta misses with a body kick.
Kiviranta throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiviranta misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Plugger is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Kiviranta pushes Plugger up against the cage in a clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Plugger has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Plugger is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kiviranta is defending well.

Kiviranta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Plugger tries to score a body lock takedown but Kiviranta shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Markus Kiviranta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pull Plugger.

Kiviranta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Plugger blocks a head kick by Kiviranta.
Kiviranta tries to work over Plugger's front leg with a kick but Plugger checks it.

Still in half guard, Kiviranta seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Plugger is controlling Kiviranta's trapped leg to prevent Kiviranta from advancing to side control.
Kiviranta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Plugger on the ground.
Plugger gets back to full guard.

Kiviranta wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Plugger's closed guard. He's half up but Plugger has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Plugger pivots and extends the arm, Kiviranta falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Plugger! Well done that man!
