Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Marshall (ranked 3192 p4p, 89 weight class) and Donny Ronaldson (ranked 3318 p4p, 95 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ronaldson's choice of entrance music: Anarchy in the UK. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marshall Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Donny Ronaldson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marshall gets a clinch.
Marshall is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Ronaldson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ronaldson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Marshall tries to break free but Ronaldson pushes him back against the cage.
Ronaldson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Marshall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Marshall swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ronaldson blocks an uppercut.

Ronaldson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Ronaldson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ronaldson trying to control the position from guard on top but Marshall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marshall wants to stand up but Ronaldson is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ronaldson controls from within his opponent's guard.

Marshall is looking for a triangle but Ronaldson pushes his legs off easily.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Marshall is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ronaldson defends well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ronaldson shoots in but no luck this time.
Marshall swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Marshall looks to land a combination. Ronaldson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ronaldson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ronaldson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Marshall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Marshall. No joy for Ronaldson on that attempt.
Marshall Marshall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donny Ronaldson.
Nice cross by Marshall.
Marshall tries to clinch there but Ronaldson circles away.
Marshall wants to clinch up but Ronaldson keeps it at a distance.
Marshall Marshall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ronaldson shoots in and bounces Marshall off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Marshall has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ronaldson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Jab, jab by Marshall - just one landing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ronaldson.
Marshall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ronaldson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ronaldson.
Marshall looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Marshall loads up on a big right hand but Ronaldson slips the punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ronaldson wants to clinch

and Marshall counters with a crisp one two that drops Ronaldson! Marshall thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Ronaldson to his feet! Ronaldson is in big trouble!
Ronaldson looks winded!
Marshall misses with a body shot.
Ronaldson wants to counter with a clinch but Marshall pushes him away.
Ronaldson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ronaldson tries to clinch
and Marshall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ronaldson looking to score a takedown here. Marshall is defending well but Ronaldson drives through and ends up in Marshall's guard.
Marshall wants to stand but Ronaldson is controlling the position.
Marshall has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Marshall controls Ronaldson momentarily but Ronaldson frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marshall Marshall will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Marshall tries to bum rush Ronaldson with a series of wild strikes but Ronaldson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ronaldson blocks a head kick by Marshall.
Ronaldson closes the distance and clinches up with Marshall, looking for a takedown. Ronaldson pushes Marshall against the cage but Marshall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ronaldson moves out of range as Marshall strikes.
Ronaldson wants to counter with a clinch but Marshall pushes him away.
Ronaldson moves out of range of the leg kick from Marshall.
Left hook, right uppercut from Marshall.


It looks like Donny Ronaldson has been cut.
Marshall Marshall is winning the standup battle so far.
Ronaldson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Marshall counters with a nice right hand that sends Ronaldson toppling to the canvas! Ronaldson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Marshall finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ronaldson takes the fight into the clinch.
Marshall has had enough of the clinch but Ronaldson keeps him there for the moment.
Marshall tries to break the clinch but Ronaldson is controlling the position.

Ronaldson breaks the clinch.
Ronaldson with a poor takedown
and Marshall counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Ronaldson is out cold! A devastating KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marshall Marshall!
Marshall Marshall got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
