The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Volkov looking to score a takedown here. OcasioCortez is defending well but Volkov drives through and ends up in OcasioCortez's guard.
Volkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. OcasioCortez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Volkov lands a couple of digs.
Volkov throws a big right hand that misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Volkov wants to free his trapped foot but OcasioCortez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Volkov winds up and cracks OcasioCortez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Volkov drops an elbow to the side of OcasioCortez's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Volkov connects with a nice short shot to OcasioCortez's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
