Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio De Souza!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been hearing good reports from Reed's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Ben Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reed swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ben Reed will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

De Souza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reed looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
De Souza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reed keeps working.
Reed managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by De Souza.

De Souza is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Reed looks calm but he's in trouble here. De Souza gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Reed is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! De Souza lets go of the hold and Reed can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rogerio De Souza!
An out of breath Rogerio De Souza thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
