PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geddy Lee (ranked 4448 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Tiggs (ranked 4591 p4p, 364 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Working Man. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiggs paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Lance Tiggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tiggs instigates a clinch.
Lee is looking to control Tiggs's arms but Tiggs gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lee has his back to the cage.
Tiggs on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Tiggs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tiggs throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Tiggs as he connects with a hook.
Tiggs throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Tiggs lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Geddy Lee has been cut.
Tiggs feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lees jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lee walks into a left hand.

Lee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee throws an elbow but Tiggs slips to the side and avoids it well.
Tiggs sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Tiggs is looking to escape.
Lee is pressing down on Tiggs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tiggs is holding on for now.
Tiggs trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Tiggs missing with punches from the bottom.
Lee trying to control from Tiggs's half guard. Tiggs has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Tiggs pulls Lee in close to his closed guard and prevents Lee from doing any damage or advancing position.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Tiggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tiggs controlling Lee's posture.
Tiggs wants to stand up but Lee is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Tiggs scores with a nice head shot.
Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tiggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.
Tiggs cracks Lee with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tiggs throws a right and a left that both miss.
As Tiggs looks to move away, Lee throws a big counter combo but Tiggs just gets out of the way.
Lee dives in and grabs Tiggs's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tiggs pushes down on Lee's head and hops out.
A shot to the liver by Tiggs. Beautiful body shot.
Lee throws a series of punches but Tiggs moves out of range.
Lee is breathing heavily.
Lee walks into a jab.

Geddy Lee's cut is getting worse.

Tiggs gets a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Tiggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tiggs throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Tiggs drops Lee with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lee looks back up at him and smiles so Tiggs waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Lee is rocked!

Geddy Lee's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tiggs swivels and escapes.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Geddy Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tiggs rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lee seems to have got his legs back now.
Tiggs working Lee over with knees to the body.

Tiggs breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Tiggs has managed to clinch.
Tiggs tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tiggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Tiggs. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Tiggs.

Jeez, Geddy Lee's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The crowd cheers as Tiggs lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lee doesn't seem phased though.
Tiggs measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Lee! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
