Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takahashi Sinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chev Chelios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chelios closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Chelios shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sinjo throws a leg kick but Chelios moved away.
Sinjo misses with an uppercut.
Chelios ducks right into an uppercut from Sinjo.

Chelios looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Chelios tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chelios wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Chelios changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sinjo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chelios decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sinjo, up you get!
Chelios circles away from the clinch attempt.
Takahashi Sinjo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sinjo tries to bum rush Chelios with a series of wild strikes but Chelios uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chelios fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sinjo, pushing him back against the cage.
Sinjo jumps guard but Chelios stands there with Sinjo around his waist. Sinjo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Chelios gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Sinjo regains guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sinjo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chelios gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chelios is looking to stand up but Sinjo won't let him.
Chelios won't allow Sinjo to get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Chelios decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Chelios decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sinjo's guard.

Sinjo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chelios gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chelios wants to get up but he can't break Sinjo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sinjo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chelios manages to get himself to full guard.

Sinjo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sinjo has gone for a leg lock! Chelios slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sinjo's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chelios stands up and waves to Sinjo to follow him.

so Chelios counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Chelios shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Chelios must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Chelios trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sinjo's guard.

Sinjo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chelios escapes and throws Sinjo's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Chelios decides to stand back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Chelios counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chelios is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Sinjo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Chelios is looking to defend but Sinjo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Chelios! Sinjo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Chelios taps out and this one is all over!
