Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Abdulvakhid Akhmadov (ranked 4472 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quang Vi Tran (ranked 4367 p4p, 0 weight class). Tran has chosen Embrace You as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akhmadov shoots in and bounces Tran off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tran can do anything to dispel that myth.
Akhmadov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Akhmadov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tran for as long as he can get away with.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Akhmadov.
Tran holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Akhmadov tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Tran takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Tran tries to lock up and control but Akhmadov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Akhmadov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Well Akhmadov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
